THE GREAT OWL MATRIACH

ceramic, 2026

In a dream, a vision of a white barn owl staring straight back at me. I think of looking away but I do not. When I wake I know it was a message from my great-grandmother Ruth. I feel she is trying to offer guidance, but for what? Have I strayed from the path? The alarm goes off and the feeling dissipates.
