I went shopping last week and found some cheap polystyrene rings for wreaths in the Christmas crafts section so bought a few, of course.
I decided to use one to make a non-Christmassy wreath for Jess's bedroom although I did use a Christmas decoration which I pulled apart.
I covered the wreath with organza ribbon and tied a length on to use for hanging. The leaves were from a Christmas garlang which I cut apart and stuck on. I then made the wire and bead embellishments and added the paper roses.
I still have 3 polystyrene rings left so trying to decide what to do with them!!
Jess is forever forgetting where she is in her school reading books so I made her a quick bookmark using a tag I already had lying around. I coloured and cut out a Gorjuss girl and stamped a Tim Holtz stamp on to the bookmark:
Materials used: Distress inks, Unity background stamp, Gorjuss stamp, Spectrum Noir pens, Tim Holtz quote stamp, KI Memories ribbon.
I can't believe it's over a month since my last blog post!!!
I now have 3 kids at 3 different schools which is fun LOL - one in Year 9, one in Year 7 and one in Year 2. We've all been full of colds and I've not felt like scrapping or making anything.....until yesterday!!
These photos are off Jamie and Jess enjoying a (very rare for them) cuddle back in 2010.
Materials used: My Minds Eye papers, Provocraft alphabet stickers, MAMBI rub-on alphabet, Pink Paislee printed ephemera, K & Co epoxy stickers, Prima flowers, HOTP brads and various vintage buttons.
A wonderful friend, She, who was also one of my ex DT mates at Make the Day Special is celebrating her birthday today so the MTDS DT (and yours truly) are having a little blog hop for her which we hope she'll enjoy.
She is a lover of all things orange and tags so here is what I made:
I coloured a tag using Distress inks and then used various Oxford Impressions stamps, some of which I coloured using Derwent Inktense pencils.
The fringed paper was something I've had for a while and I made the beaded fringe bits myself.
Happy Birthday She!!! xx

I was inspired by the colours, the stitching, the roses and black images and made this:
I coloured the tag using Paperartsy Fresco paints and crackled them and used distress ink through sequin waste to add a bit more colour and texture. The image was stamped on a painted background and then I used more paint to colour it. The trusty sewing machine came out again and I added a bead and wire embellishment that I made a while ago.
There's a challenge on the Viva Las Vegastamps blog to make a project using August's Inspiration board:
I've made a canvas using the lighthouse stamp from Plate 923 and taking inspiration form the colours - just love the black with the aqua and pink. The paint splodges in the top made me think of water.
The canvas is about 7" x 5". I coloured it with Derwent Artbars which I then blended with water. I stamped the lighthouse using black Memento ink and then added gesso through a stencil to add texture to the sea and also used my fingers to add some.
I found a quote online which I printed out and then coloured with distress inks before cutting out each word and then inking around each of them.
I then added trim, ric-rac and a few rub-ons along with a couple of watch parts that I painted.
SAHM of 3.
I don't follow trends and am not a lover of "cute" stamps! I'm on a mission to use all my old papers and stash. My scrapbooking is done because I want to share memories with my family (who don't mind what papers and embellishments I use!)
Comments are always appreciated thanks!
